Risk Assessment for UnderCover Martyn

As you can see from above, this is our Risk Assessment for our music video Undercover Martyn. It consists of six potential risks or hazards we persued when filming for our music video. This is a very important document as it shows where the location was, what was the potential risk/hazard, the level of the risk (L/M/H) and the action taken when filming. Throughout filming it was enjoyable but annoying as we came across these hazards/risks which needed to be dealt with so that we could film safely and securely. The worse risk/hazard as a group which we thought was dangerous was when we filmed above a tunnel which was 10 meters high, we had to make sure that we were safely sat down and the equipment was in a safe place or attached to us. Risk assessments are very important as they form an integral part of a good occupational health and safety management plan. They help to:
  • Create awareness of hazards and risks.
  • Identify who may be at risk (employees, cleaners, visitors, contractors, the public, etc).
  • Determine if existing control measures are adequate or if more should be done.
  • Prevent injuries or illnesses when done at the design or planning stage.
  • Prioritize hazards and control measures.

After completeing this document, we then had to look at the footage we had filmed and start editing our music video for Undercover Martyn.
